In Islam, are you allowed to be rich?

its allowed to be rich ....its just compulaory on you to give some % of your wealth in zakat(charity)...if you give more than the required amount...its good and Allah tells us to help the poor and the needy ....so its good to give charity...but only a certain % is compulary...
